Chapter 107 -107-The Abyss Council
Within the shadowed realm of the Abyss, Sarko slowly emerged from an Anygate.
Anygates were a common feature throughout the Abyss—convenient transportation nodes that allowed one to traverse vast distances within the dark domain. Sarko had just been lounging idly in his palace, feeling somewhat bored, when he received a direct summons from none other than the Emperor of the Abyss.
The title was no exaggeration. The Emperor of the Abyss was the supreme sovereign of the entire Abyssal realm, possessing an exalted authority unmatched by any other. Even powerful beings like Sarko, one of the Kings of the Abyss, were bound to obey the Emperor’s commands.
What surprised Sarko, however, was that this summons wasn’t for a routine council session.
And the topic under discussion went far beyond what he had anticipated.
Are we really planning to attack the surface world this soon?
Should he vote in favor of this campaign, or stand against it?
From the implications in the Emperor’s speech, it was clear that the matter would be officially put to a vote during the next council meeting.
Yet for some reason, upon hearing this declaration, Sarko felt deeply uneasy. His heart was restless, as if the warning bells of intuition were chiming in full force.
If what that human named Duban had said was true, then humanity’s strength far exceeded what most Abyss beings had estimated.
Even if the Emperor personally led the charge, Sarko doubted they’d be able to overpower the surface forces. The result could very well be a catastrophic loss.
