Chapter 98 -98-Abyss White Tree
The moment Daniel saw the full effects of the [Anygate], he was instantly tempted.
While it was true that teleportation arrays existed in the human realm, they came with numerous downsides. Not only were they astronomically expensive to construct, but the costs associated with using them were also prohibitively high. Moreover, the range of these teleportation arrays was extremely limited. The number of people and volume of goods they could transport were strictly constrained by capacity.
Because of this, even though teleportation arrays were technically available, most people in the human world still preferred to travel by airship. After all, the cost of taking an airship was merely 1% of the cost of teleportation.
In harsher environments—such as Winterhold Castle—even setting up a teleportation array was completely impossible. The terrain and ambient energy disruptions rendered such efforts futile. Even the mighty Human Emperor himself had no choice but to ride the Snowdragon Beast for over a dozen hours just to arrive there.
But the [Anygate]?
It didn’t have any of these limitations. Once a location was bound to it, it could be revisited an unlimited number of times. Even more astonishing—it didn’t require massive amounts of resources to operate.
For the human race, the importance of something like the Anygate was self-evident.
And it was precisely at the moment Daniel’s heart was moved that Sarko, standing beside him, noticed it.
Although Sarko couldn’t probe Daniel with detection spells, he was still able to read his microexpressions with precision. In the brief second when Daniel’s eyes widened in surprise, Sarko had already caught on to his reaction.
However, Daniel didn’t mind this.
He had already planned to use [Time Stream] to return to a previous point in time soon. No matter what Sarko observed now, it would be rendered meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
