Chapter 87 -87-Sarko
As Daniel continued his rapid descent through the Abyss, he kept his [Eye of Insight] active, constantly scanning the surrounding void for any trace of Abyssal Cores.
However, he quickly discovered that their scarcity was far greater than he had anticipated. Even after falling for such a long time and scouring his surroundings with high-level detection abilities, he had only managed to find a few dozen cores—far from the vast quantity he needed.
And as time dragged on, Daniel began to lose track of how long he had been falling. The communicator had long since lost any signal; he had to rely solely on the device’s internal clock to estimate how much time had passed since his descent began.
Unknowingly, he began slipping into a kind of auto-pilot state—his mind detached, drifting while his body handled the grind. Even his combat was delegated to his Spirit of Skills, which released skills and defended him instinctively.
Meanwhile, Daniel’s maximum HP continued to climb steadily.
This sensation of growing stronger without needing to actively fight—it was almost addictive. A feeling of effortless progress. As if he were farming power without cost. It was a rare luxury, like upgrading for free.
And so he continued falling—another three hours slipped by.
Counting the initial two hours, Daniel had now been inside the Abyss for a full five hours.
And it was clear that things had changed.
The number of monsters had increased dramatically. The deeper he fell, the more densely packed the Abyss became with aggressive lifeforms. Their level, quantity, and aggressiveness had all risen, and elite monsters, as well as wild bosses, now appeared in growing numbers.
But with the surge in enemies came a corresponding benefit: Daniel’s HP kept skyrocketing.
