From Skid Row to Superstardom: An Idol System Novel

Chapter 375: Good Boys Gone Bad (4)

Chop chop chop chop-

"You’ve got to be kidding me," Grace whispered as she and all the other audience members looked up at the large black helicopter that was hovering above the stage with its spotlight pointed directly at it.

Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa~

As Carlos’s distinct voice sang the words this time, the electric guitar grew even louder, and the audience watched as he was carefully lowered onto the stage by the wire and vest harness he wore.

The moment Carlos landed, he quickly unhooked himself from the wire cable that retracted back up to the helicopter before posing next to Mathew, who landed with a neat flip not too far from him.

When his warm brown eyes peered at the audience, numerous screams sounded out.

"You’re telling me they have the budget for a helicopter? Since when?" Rachel screamed in excitement, her eyes opened as wide as possible to see who would be coming down next.

She wasn’t the only one.

Everyone in the audience was completely entranced as they watched what seemed like a scene out of a movie, and all recording devices were pointed at the sky.

As they looked on, the helicopter door opened, and Benjamin appeared. He was wearing dark sunglasses and had a microphone in one hand.

With his free hand, he pretended to slick back his hair, then gel his eyebrows down with his pinky and index finger after licking them.

Lifting his sunglasses so the excitement in his eyes could be seen, Benjamin brought the microphone to his lips, singing the lines.

Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa~

Once he was finished, he spun around and back-flipped off the helicopter, causing the audience below to gasp.

As Benjamin was being lowered, Jamie appeared next in the open doorway.

Squatting at the edge, he made his fingers into guns and then pretended to fire them before blowing away the smoke and then tucking them away in a holster, causing a few screams to be heard.

- He looks like an evil cowboy. I like it.

- Can I say something?

- I’m listening, and I’m right there with you.

Then gripping his black cowboy hat while the other brought the wireless microphone to his lips to sing.

Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa~

Done singing his part, Jamie jumped off feet first and was lowered slowly to the ground along with Benjamin.

When Jamie and Benjamin landed, they quickly unhooked the cord that connected to the helicopter.

- Oh my gosh, it’s just Levi and Ari, right?

- I can’t wait to see what they do.

Excited by the crazy visual treat they had never experienced before, the audience stared desperately at the sky.

Then, finally, Levi appeared, holding what looked like a tied-up person over one shoulder and a microphone in the other hand.

The bandaid on his cheek, the turtle neck, the dark sunglasses, it all came together to make him look like a mob boss in the process of kidnapping somebody.

Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa~

Singing the lines with that unexpected sharp smile that he rarely showed, he stepped off the helicopter and was cleanly lowered to the center of the spotlight on the stage.

As Levi quickly unhooked the cable attached to him, it quickly retreated into the helicopter, which began flying away.

As the 6 boys stood on the stage, the audience happily stared at the insane visuals being served right now.

Cool, cool, cool!

There was no other way to describe it.

Carlos had a rugged gangster appeal with his dark looks, slicked back hair except for the one curl that fell into his face, and leather jacket.

Mathew looked like a member of a street break-dancing crew, with his street-wear-style suit with patches, a band-aid strategically placed on his face, and a beanie.

Benjamin looked as cool as ever, especially with the leather holster stretching across his shoulders and chest, emphasizing his muscles.

Jamie looked like the bad boy cowboy in a western-style movie.

Levi looked as if he were an evil mob boss or the bodyguard of an evil mob boss, especially as he rolled the sleeves of his trench coat up.

And Ari...

- puahahahahahahahaha

- Oh my shayla is so cutesy

- he’s a nerd!!! His true appearance is here.

The audience couldn’t help but laugh as they took in the shortest and most distinct member of the cool-looking team that had just jumped out of a helicopter as if they were in some kind of movie.

Ari...

Well....

Unlike the others, who were the literal epitome of cool, to put it simply, Ari looked like a dork.

His red hair was slicked down the middle and around his head, making him almost look like he had a bowl cut.

He wore thick-framed glasses with tape around the bridge, as if they had been broken and taped together.

Unlike at his graduation, when he wore a cool black suit with red detailing, he now wore black pants that were rolled up, exposing his neat white socks and slender ankles; he had rubber ducky suspenders over his white button-down shirt and a matching rubber ducky bow tie.

Over it all, Ari was wearing a black graduation cap and a burgundy graduation gown draped with all sorts of cords and stoles, in his hands were a pile of textbooks, and he was pounding Levi’s back as if he were a hostage.

As the audience began laughing at Ari, who looked cuter than usual, Levi tossed him onto a chair that Benjamin had retrieved, and they both quickly wrapped him in red-and-yellow crime tape.

As Ari struggled, Benjamin tapped him under the chin before asking in a smug tone.

"Are you ready to be corrupted?"

"Never!" Ari yelled back in a fake angry tone.

"We’ll see." Laughing to himself, Benjamin walked back into position, and finally, the audience got a good look at the stage.

With Ari tied to a chair in the middle, and the other 5 boys surrounding him, the story they were trying to convey was very clear and very successful, especially because many of them knew the song, ’Good Boy Gone Bad’ by Golden Generation.

Ari was a nerd, the nerdiest of all nerds, who had been kidnapped by a group of bad people who were trying to make him bad like them.

What an exciting concept!!

As the audience stared at the stage with enraptured eyes, the previously loud electric guitar and drums from the instrumental mellowed out.

Then Carlos began singing as he slowly walked around Ari, trailing his hands over Ari’s shoulders, while Jamie and Benjamin performed choreography on one side of the pair and Mathew and Levi on the other.

Came into the world, happiness and light are your essence

Untouched by war, everyone delights in your presence~

It’s overwhelming,

My mind and soul lack that innocence

Carlos voice was lower than usual, with a dark quality that made it sound seductive.

And the choreography was smooth and almost sinuous, with slow, intentional movements meant to seduce the target rather than oppress them with force.

But the target of that seduction, Ari, kept looking away while trying to avoid Carlos’ touch, while slowly moving along to the choreography.

When he had made one full turn and arrived back at Ari’s side, Carlos grabbed Ari’s face as if her were angry, forcing Ari to face him.

Since I cannot have it, then neither can you~

As Ari wrenched his face away, Benjamin took over and stood behind Ari, who was sitting on the chair.

Grabbing one end of a red crinkly tape, he wrapped it around his hand and pulled it up, and began singing while performing the choreography one-handed.

Stain that white with the darkest ink~

Consume your thoughts so that you can’t think~

And as Benjamin sang while dancing, lifting his hand to his face, then sweeping it out, the tape that was connected to both his hand and Ari’s forced Ari’s hand to move the same way.

When Benjamin lifted his hand, Ari had no choice but to lift his hand as well.

When Benjamin seemed to grab something and fling it to the side, Ari had no choice but to grab the books he held and fling them away, even though it looked like he was struggling to resist the control.

Darken your world so it’s just you and me,

That light and joy must melt away~

- he’s being controlled like a puppet?

- crazy!

- I always forget how well Benjamin can sing. He’s so good!

- Ari’s acting is good.

With a sharp move, Benjamin yanked the tape, causing all the red pieces to break off and fall to the ground, leaving only the yellow tape around him.

Then Jamie took his spot, quickly wrapping the yellow tape around his hand and slowly walking around Ari’s chair while singing in a haunting manner, while the other four boys paired up for their choreography.

Look in the mirror, what do you see

I’ve turned you into a copy of me~

Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa~

The two pairs of boys mirrored each other’s dance moves while slowly, Ari began to dance like them, even though he was seated.

Every once in a while, Ari would try to jerk away, causing his chair to tilt and slowly turn until he was completely backward while the yellow tape continued to unravel around him.

That light and joy that you thought you once knew~

Has faded, so come and join our crew

As Jamie held the note, Benjamin, Levi, Mathew, and Carlos quickly gathered around the chair, completely blocking it with their bodies as Jamie continued to sing

Watch watch yeah, you better watch me noww~

Hahahaha~

A Joker-like laugh sounded out when the music paused.

And when the five boys separated, the chair was gone, and Ari was standing there, having done a complete 180.

His nerdy look was completely gone as if it had never existed.

He now wore dark sunglasses, his hair falling stylishly around his face.

The graduation cap, suspenders, the bowtie, and high-cuffed pants were replaced by the all-black suit with red detailing, making him look like he was coming from some black-tie event.

He even had a tie made of the red and yellow caution tape and had that traditional mischievous smile on his face.

Flipping the microphone around in his hand, Ari brought it to his lips and began singing the lines as the music picked back up.

Cause I’m a good boy, gone bad

Tell you I’m a good boy gone bad

You broke me now, I’m a good boy gone bad

Watch out, ’cause I’m a good boy, gone bad~

Jumping in unison, then performing sharp upper-body movements before transitioning into military-like steps, the 6 of them perfectly replicated the Golden Generation’s dance while adding their own personal flair.

Ari’s ease, Mathew’s technical precision, Jamie’s power, Benjamin’s swagger, Levi’s sharpness, and Carlos’s smoothness.

Then, with a little swagger in his step, Mathew took the middle and rapped the chorus.

I’m a good boy gone bad, good boy gone bad, good boy gone bad, good boy gone bad.

Yeah, I’m a good boy, gone bad, good boy gone bad, good boy gone bad.
