From Skid Row to Superstardom: An Idol System Novel

Chapter 75: Performance Evaluation (7)

In Ari’s opinion, Carlos had top 5 vocals in the whole competition, and he was definitely not number 5.

His vocal tone was so clear that it was hard to believe that it came from a real person, and he easily had the highest range out of all the grade vocal students Ari had seen so far.

In the song Warrior, Ari thought that Carlos would be a shoo-in for the high-pitched chorus and the beginning highlight verse on whatever team was on.

Whenever they practiced with Jelissa, he preferred to sing those verses, but now in this performance, those verses had gone to Minho and Suzuki Rei, whom Ari was pretending not to see.

Instead, Carlos only had two small ad-libs, which didn’t show how amazing his voice was.

Additionally, Carlos was in the very back of almost all of the dance formations and was barely visible except for his two parts, like his team was trying to hide him.

It was an entirely strange setup that he couldn’t understand, especially since Carlos seemed to be keeping up well with his teammates when it came to dancing.

Although the vocal performance was fine, Ari thought it would have been much better if Carlos had more parts or if they had allowed him to double for the weaker singers on his team.

When the performance finished, Ari listened intently to the feedback, wondering if any of the judges would comment on it.

"Judges, may we have your feedback? Selena, I know you mentored them with the choreography. Do you have any thoughts or questions for our contestants?"

"I think that it’s visible that you all have been practicing, but there’s still quite some work to be done, especially during your transitions and during the dance break." Serena began politely, before continuing, "But I remember that I said it during practice that I wasn’t a fan of your line distribution, but it seems that you’ve kept it the same?"
