Chapter 31: Rehearsal
"What performance number are you again?" Jamie asked nervously as his leg kept tapping the ground.
"47. You?"
"10."
"Lucky, you get to get it over with quickly and get to enjoy the show. Or take a nap."
"I guess. I'm still a bit nervous, though."
Ari and Jamie sat and waited in the auditorium while the stage crew called on different individuals and had them run through their performance. Jamie had gone earlier and was sticking around while waiting for Ari's turn to come.
Currently, Rex and the rest of his teammates were on the stage, putting on head mics and spacing themselves out while loosely dancing as the music to an upbeat hip hop song played in the background.
Ari turned to the side and calmly patted Jamie's hand, which was nervously tapping the arms of the chair.
"Relax. Unless you want to stay up all night practicing one more time? I'm down if you are."
"Ugh. No, thank you. I need to sleep so these bags don't show up. I'm jealous you get to wear makeup like that." Jamie genuinely looked jealous at the fact that Ari could cover up his dark eye bags with face paint.
And I'm jealous that you get to walk around with your bare face.
