Chapter 29: With A Dirty Peasant (R18)
"Is that all you see him as? You bastard." A deep voice pierced the silence, and Lady Kaori's eyes widened in disbelief.
As she turned to face the voice, she found Mason leaning against the wall, arms crossed, his hair casting a shadow over his eyes.
"You!" She stepped away from the mirror she'd been cleaning herself up with, staggering backward as if confronted by a ghost. Memories of how he had forced her to kneel crashed over her like a relentless tidal wave.
"When did you, how did you..." Not a second had passed since her brother left and he was already standing in the room, relaxed and strangely, she couldn't sense any trace of his spiritual energy at all.
It was almost as if he had no spiritual energy at all.
"I warned you didn't I?" His voice remained cold, indifferent.
"What?" She chuckled softly. "You seriously expected me to take the words of a peasant seriously just because you got lucky?"
She chuckled softly at first, then gradually fell silent. Suddenly, her mood shifted—darkening with an unsettling calm. "If anything, you're the one I hoped to face during the second stage. Had it been you..."
A dark aura wrapped around her right hand and shaped into a sharp claw. "Exams or not..."
She lunged forward at him with great speed, attempting to cut a hole right through his chest. "You're the one I'd kill!!"
As she closed the distance, Mason lifted his head, revealing his glowing red, slit eyes.
