Chapter 27: Second Stage
"With all said and done let the battle stage begin."
A large holographic board materialized at the center of the ring, its luminous surface flickering to life.
Names and images of the first fighters to battle flashed across it, casting an ethereal glow over the arena.
"For the first Round, we have Lady Kaori vs Rick Shaw!" The principal announced.
Lady Kaori took hee place on the left side of the ring while Rick, her opponent took his place on the left side of the ring. Tension rose as Lady Kaori had a mischievous smile as she glanced at Rick.
Mason's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared down at Rick from the spectators seat, it was the same man Lady Kaori harassed earlier.
"Tch, damn it."
"It's that commoner who tried standing up to Lady Kaori."
"What? How in the world was he allowed to take the entrance exam? Aren't commners known for their incredibly low spiritual energy?"
"No, the question is how did he survive the previous stage?"
The whispers of the spectators consisting majorly of nobles filled the air.
