Dust and blood hung in the air, and the ground trembled faintly beneath scorched rubble.
Naevora blinked and her vision was still swimming from the pain.
Her body screamed with every movement, but her gaze locked onto the spear lying just a few feet away, half-buried in the debris.
She reached out with trembling fingers and gripped the shaft.
Ether surged and golden sparks burst out from her palm, racing along her skin as her core pulsed violently in her chest.
"Hughrrhh... haa... I can still move."
Her breath was ragged, but her knees straightened and she rose slowly using the spear like a crutch.
Golden arcs of energy snapped across her body, lighting the broken ground around her.
Lingsha turned, and she raised an eyebrow curiously "Still getting up?" she muttered.
Above, the sky darkened.
Ether streaked through the clouds in flashes and lines of golden lightning rained down around Naevora’s body, cracking the earth with each strike.
