Outside, the garden was alive with the chirping of birds and the rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze.
Wearing shorts, Brandon went downstairs and reached the kitchen.
Standing on the doorframe, he looked at Elize making breakfast as usual.
He hesitated for a moment before going in "Morning, Aunt Elize..."
Elize raised her head from the stove, her blonde hair pulled into a loose ponytail and showed her usual motherly smile "Morning."
Brandon nodded, his hands slipping into his pockets, as he stood there awkwardly, caught between the comfort of routine and the uncertainty of their new reality.
As he turned to leave, Elize suddenly called him "Kael, come here..."
Hm? Turning on his feet, he gently made his way toward her "Aunt Elize?"
Elize set the spatula down, wiping her hands on her apron and looked at him with a smile "Where are you going without giving me my morning kiss?"

Brandon blinked for a moment in surprise before leaning down to gently press a kiss on her cheek.
