The low hum of the car’s engine faded into silence as Brandon pulled into the garage, his body still lightly glistening with sweat from the volleyball match.
He opened the door and stepped out, as the cooler air of the early evening greeted his skin.
He exhaled slowly, rolling his shoulders and stretching his neck.
The dusky amber light of the setting sun spilled across the courtyard, brushing over the cobblestones.
He made his way through the courtyard, pushing open the side door to the house.
"Aunt Elize?" he called out casually as he stepped in, but there was no answer.
A frown crept onto his face. "Did they go out...?"
He sighed and made his way further into the house, instinctively heading toward Elize’s room.
Pushing the door open with a tired grunt, he stepped inside and stretched his arms high above his head, "First... I need to sit down and cool off."
He tossed his shirt lazily onto a nearby chair, revealing his toned torso streaked lightly with sweat.
