Transmigrated into a reversed world

Chapter 235 - 235: Boss, she’s dead

Cyra and the rest passed through the north oasis unhindered; no monster dared attack them, and instead went into hiding.

At night, when the place was meant to be crawling with monsters, it was eerily silent, and only the sounds of their footsteps echoed through the surroundings.

Cyra grasped them by the waist and leapt into the underground entrance. "Are we going back to the island?'' Viktor asked as his feet touched the ground.

"No, I'm taking you somewhere," Cyra replied, pulling them through the tear in space. A burst of sounds and colours rushed through their senses. Viktor closed his eyes, breathing in the scent of muddy earth and the chirping of crickets.

"Haa… I miss the real world." He hadn't thought he would miss colours and sounds so much in his life, and he felt a sense of awe for Cyra and Zane, who had spent years living in a colourless world.

Cyra's brows furrowed as they reached the aircraft's parking spot. She noticed patches of dead grass around, as if something had walked near the aircraft.

But since there weren't footprints, she assumed that some curious animals in the forest had made those marks.

"Let's go in," Zane said as he pulled the distracted Viktor into the aircraft. Though he, too, was excited to browse through the nexus.

Cyra shook the thoughts from her mind. Activating her bracelet, she opened the door, and light flooded in, bringing the aircraft to life.

Zane and Viktor entered, with Cyra following behind them, and the door closed with a soft hiss.

She went directly to the control room and inserted the cube into its empty slot. All control buttons lit up, and she started the aircraft, causing it to hover in the sky. Before it dashed forward, she entered the location on the map.

Sitting back on the sofa, she noticed messages in her inbox from Nicole and Kyle.

With nothing else to do, she started a video call to Kyle. It rang for a few minutes before his tired face appeared on the holographic screen.

"Boss… It's you," Kyle said in a dry tone, showing no hint of joy at seeing Cyra after five days without contact.

"How are things back on the island? Have you located the Dark Organisation's hideout?" Cyra wasn't bothered by Kyle's lack of enthusiasm and went straight to important matters.

"The island was attacked, but we handled it. I couldn't get anything useful from the one I left alive." Kyle paused to catch his breath, then straightened on his bed, forgetting he was shirtless.

Cyra frowned at his words, already eager to find their main hideout and wipe them from existence. They were like flies buzzing around, weak but irritating.

"As for the location, I could only narrow it down to a general area—somewhere on an uninhabitable island," Kyle continued, splitting his screen to show her a map with a red dot buzzing at the center.

"Around this location—I found it by hacking one of their top members. Package delivery." Kyle stopped, his expression twisting in disgust.

"Is there something wrong with the package?" Cyra Asher sensed Kyle's expression changed when he mentioned it.

"Um…it's filled with frozen human brains." Kyle's words made Cyra's brows raise.

"What would they be using so much brain for? Why would they even need to ship a brain in the first place?" Kyle asked aloud, puzzled by their actions.

"We've to ask them in person." Cyra voiced, feeling no other particular emotion concerning her enemy's actions. "In three months, we'll be visiting," Cyra murmured, her light tone edged with bloodlust.

Kyle, on the other end of the screen, shivered slightly. Then yelped when he noticed his bare skin showing across the screen.

Cyra's lips curled slightly. "Tsk... I wouldn't have imagined you had such well-sculpted muscles and abs," she clicked her tongue, teasing him as she gave him a once-over before Kyle covered himself with his bedcovers. Tʜe source of this ᴄontent ɪs N0velFire.ɴet

Kyle quickly ended the call, Cyra's teasing smile still in his thoughts.

He buried his face in his pillow and screamed, wishing Cyra would have amnesia. His face was bright red, and throughout the night, he couldn't get a wink of sleep.

Meanwhile, on the other end, Cyra went looking for Viktor, needing to feed—craving fresh blood tonight.

Viktor, unaware that such a good thing was heading his way, was absorbed in his bracelet.

Damn! Which bastard claims he's involved in a love scandal with Desire Island owner?" Viktor swore, his frown deepening as he typed a response online.

Zane glanced over at the sound and saw Viktor typing furiously on his screen.

"Did he say something?'' he muttered to himself, his movie volume high enough that he couldn't catch Viktor's words. Shrugging, he turned back to the movie playing.

[You ugly, crooked eyes, tiny mouth freak! Don't go using your celebrity status to spout nonsense online. Have you looked at yourself thoroughly in the mirror to see if you are even worth becoming her servant? (╯°□°)╯︵] Viktor flexed his fingers and was about to hurl a barrage of insults when the aircraft suddenly jolted from turbulence.

It started to shake violently, alarm sounds blaring and lights flickering rapidly as Viktor and Zane collided with the walls.

Cyra flashed in and grabbed both of them, taking them to her space before heading to the aircraft to find out the cause of the turbulence.

She flashed to the control room, muting the loud alarms to search for the source. Some wires had been cut, and on the hologram screen, an image of a ticking bomb appeared with bold words flashing.

[In your next life, don't become an enemy of the Dark Organisation.]

Once she read the message, the aircraft exploded in the sky, like fireworks illuminating the night.

Boom!

The sound echoed through the quiet night above the mountain plain.

......

"Boss, she's dead. The mission was successful." A voice spoke through a hologram.

"Good. I have to tell the head the good news. Don't spread the news of her death yet until we take control of her island," The woman ordered as she got out of her seat.

"Yes, boss." And with that, the line disconnected.
