Although Spencer did all that, he still reasoned that he was doing those because he was a competitive person not because he was starting to like the original. It was a petty excuse but everyone believed it.
Spencer decided to change his tactic from a heartthrob flirt to a goody-friendly approach. They made a bond, she talked to him and was willing to be with him. Within a month of that kind of interaction, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She said she’ll think about it, it took her one month of contemplating. Spencer was like courting her for that long. And after exactly one month she said, yes.
The bet was supposed to be over by then. He was supposed to break her heart after making efforts for her. Yet, he thrilled the circle and upgraded the bet, if he managed to take her virginity they would pay him twice. They agreed, but they knew that Spencer wasn’t going just to play with her. They could see that Spencer was just stalling the time to be with her longer. He was making an excuse to keep on staying by her side.
Spencer convinced himself that at least he needed to bed her for all of the efforts he had gone through in order to be her boyfriend. And once that he took her chastity, he would leave her --- impromptu. When she finally gave it to him, he stayed, he couldn’t leave her at all... He remained docile, providing her company whenever she needed it. Not breaking their relationship, offered her protection from other students who wanted to steal her stuff or play with her. By then, he told his friends that he would claim the original as his plaything.
Slowly, her bank account lost money. The well-off child, once known, was already broke. Yet, Spencer being around, she could still have the life she once had, a luxurious life. When she was kicked out of her condominium that was taken by her other relatives, Spencer took her in. They started living together, in their second year of college. That was when Spencer took her virginity, played with her every night when he pleased. The original had nothing to say since he basically fed, clothed, and sheltered her. Then, because they both were on the same roof, the original knew what Spencer’s real color was.
He was bored of her but never once thought of letting her go. He didn’t want someone to take his plaything at the same time, he was craving for sex, that was why he had an affair with other girls while being in a relationship with her. Of course, he managed to take her body every once in a while if he was lusting for her. She was like a ready-to-cook meal in his refrigerator. He enjoyed her quiet and submissive attitude, not being crazy like his other exes once he was caught cheating. He knew that she knew what he was doing outside, but she- the original, said nothing about it and continued to serve him as her boyfriend.
The original once discussed to Spencer that she would like to have some part-time jobs but he forbade it, saying that she’s challenging his competence as her boyfriend who provided her -- everything, he got mad at her and threatened her that he would do things her way. She better leave his condo and find herself a house. From there on, she never talked about it anymore.
The original only genuine friend, Gale, the female protagonist, had her own dilemma and the original didn’t want to add burden to her, so she never talked about her problem to her best friend. This situation has kept on going until the present... where Yanarym comes in.

Make the male lead fall in love with her, huh... who is the male lead she was pertaining to? Hansel? The male lead of the book? If so, was the original aware she was a book character? Definitely not... so, who is the male lead she wanted to fall in love with? Spencer? But it was unlikely to be Spencer... Should she stick to Hansel? Or should she look for male lead qualities? The original has a confusing wish, doesn’t she?
