Chapter 35: I cannot... I don’t see her as my mother
I entered inside the mansion. Eleanor was waiting for me inside still sitting on that same chair.
Setsuna had already left and Ayesha went inside to rest.
I don’t completely know about her circumstances, but if someone like Edward could ascend then surely someone as talented as her shouldn’t have any issues, maybe something is stopping her from ascending. But she will be fine, she isn’t so weak to fall back with just some cruel words.
"You came back?" Eleanor greeted me with a soft smile.
But there was more to it, ghe way she looked at me was different... different than how a mother looks at her child.
I have felt this from very long ago but now it is more likely that she doesn’t see me as her son or maybe she does but there is much more to it, her feelings were conflicted before but now they are firm and so are mine...
She might have given birth to me, but I am an adult. I am not so foolish enough to believe her or see her as my mother. The woman before me... I cannot see her as my mother.
"Yeah." I replied.
"You are more dirty than usual, were the beasts too much troublesome?"
"No, just one was particularly annoying, but it has been dealt with. He won’t cause trouble again." I replied to her.
Unknowingly, it felt as if the conversation wasn’t about any beasts at all.
But neither of us cared.
