Gasps echoed through the chamber.
Reina’s violet eyes widened, her mouth falling open, her long black hair clinging to her flushed cheeks.
Miki’s hands flew to her mouth, muffling a whimper, her sun-tanned skin paling as her orange ponytail swayed with her trembling.
Aika blinked, her sharp gaze locked on the card. She read it again, then again, as if willing the words to change.
"No..." she whispered, her voice barely audible, her composure cracking. "It has to be a mistake."
Kota stepped beside her, his presence steady, grounding.
"It’s not," he said quietly, his dark eyes meeting hers with unwavering resolve.
"The second one," Aika said, her voice tight, almost pleading. "That’s the safe one."
"It’s not," he countered, his tone soft but unyielding.
