Chapter 28 encounter 2[r18]
A moment later, she returned with an ashtray full of cigarette butts and ashes, blushing as she handed it to Hunter.
"If you eat all these cigarette butts now, I’ll let this slide." Barbara said with a smile. "Otherwise, I can’t guarantee your safety."
Hunter’s face twisted in disgust. He couldn’t believe Barbara was making him eat those cigarette butts, and felt a surge of anger and resentment.
But thinking of Robin, he knew he had no choice. After a moment’s hesitation, he took the ashtray from Lily, gritted his teeth, and stuffed the cigarette butts and ashes into his mouth. The taste made him gag, but he forced it down, tears streaming as he looked at Barbara.
Barbara nodded in satisfaction, signaling the security guards to release him. "I own this bar. If you want to come and have fun, you’re welcome anytime. But you better follow the rules. Even the police give me respect. Do you understand?"
"Understood, Mrs. Ward. I won’t dare anymore." Hunter felt like he’d been given a second chance, nodding quickly. He knew better than to mess with Barbara again. She was beautiful but deadly, someone he simply couldn’t afford to mess with.
"Great, I value peace in my business dealings. Tonight’s incident is over," Barbara smiled slightly, then turned and left. To her, this little incident with Hunter was nothing.
As Barbara walked away, Hunter sighed in relief, quickly paid his bill, and left the bar. A few steps outside, he remembered the cigarette butts he’d eaten, and his stomach churned. He vomited until he was empty, then wiped his mouth weakly, got in his car, and headed home.
Driving home, Hunter felt frustrated about the day’s events. How unlucky could he get? He’d tried to be nice by offering Jessica a ride, only to be misunderstood and kicked out. Then, at the bar, he almost lost his life messing with a gang boss’s wife. He decided he needed to be more careful in the future.
