I was so angry when I stormed back to my room in the slave quarters, feeling so annoyed that my hands shook at my sides. When Ada and Iris asked me what the problem was, I refrained from telling the reason why I was so annoyed because it would make me seem ridiculous to them because I’ve told them I want nothing to do with the princes, so i definitely shouldn’t be feeling angry that they chose to fuck Lyla.
I hated that I was feeling an ache in my chest right now. I might hate them, but they’re still my fated mate, which means I still hate the fact that they were fucking someone else.
I ended up laying down, but I was unable to get a wink of sleep. At a point, Ada and Iris told me it was time for us to go get our meal because no one would come serve us in here and that they’d be willing to come serve me in here but they won’t be allowed.
"It’s alright, I’ll come with you." I said to them as I forced myself off the bed and after them. In the large kitchen, it was harder to tune the snide remarks out cause there were a lot, seeing as all the maids of the Princes’ wing were gathered here right now.
"Just ignore them, my lady. They’re just jealous of you." Ada said to me with a small smile. I was nodding towards her when one of the slaves behind us snorted.
"My lady? That’s what you’re still calling her? She’s now a slave like the rest of us and that’s exactly what you should call her." The Slave barked out while those around her laughed loudly.
"How about you mind your business?" Iris shot at then but they only laughed while calling myself, Ada and Isis a bunch of loosers.
To me, these maids were all ridiculous and irreverent to me so I didn’t bother trying to respond to them. When it got to my turn for me to accept my meal, because we were all asked to line up for it, before I could get handed my own meal— lady Beatrice who was standing beside the server, asked her to wait.
"You," she said to me in a hard voice and I frowned at her in confusion.
