Chapter 70: Stubborn Dark Elf
"You don’t want me to report you to the Guild Master, right?" Dapper asked with a wild grin, and the dark elf nodded reluctantly.
"Good. You just have to listen to me. You’re a nice girl, not so bad. Can you give me a 360 turn?" Dapper asked, his toothy grin growing even wider. He could see the hatred brewing on her face, though she tried hard to suppress it.
"I’m sorry. That’s against our code of conduct. Such actions are not permitted during work hours."
"If they’re not allowed during work hours, what about after work?" Dapper asked smoothly.
"Human, what do you mean? I think you’re going overboard now. Remember, I’m only tolerating this to save my job. At most, the Guild Master would caution me. Don’t push your luck too far," the dark elf warned sharply, her tone taking a sudden serious turn as she yanked her wrist free from Dapper’s grip.
’This elf... she’s not a pushover. But I won’t give up here. Her attitude only makes me more aroused. She probably doesn’t care about looks... or maybe she’s just not into humans. But she might be into money... no, she might find that offensive.’
"Hey, do you mind if we meet up after work hours? Maybe grab a few drinks? You’re beautiful," Dapper said, flashing a playful smile. The elf paused, then turned to look at him from top to bottom.
"I don’t date babies. You’re not even nineteen yet, which is barely anything by elven standards. Know your place, human," the elf said, then walked away without another glance.
Dapper stood there, stunned. That was only the second time in his life a woman had turned him down. The first was Aya. And now this elf, who was even more blunt.
"Hey, why don’t you give it a chance before jumping to conclusions? Age is just a number. Besides, I like them older. Anyway, that was a joke but I’d appreciate it if you thought about it. At least tell me your name," Dapper called after her, hoping she heard him.
Surprisingly, she stopped and turned her head slightly.
"I’ll think about it. My name is Quigella," she said, then vanished into a section of the guild reserved for staff only.
