Chapter 48: Hidden Agenda
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The rhythmic sound of a stress-relief artifact on the desk relived no one’s stress, in fact, it further intensified the tension in the room as two young men in uniforms sat across from a middle-aged man with neck-length gray hair. The disciplinarian wore glasses with thick lenses and was dressed in a checked black and white shirt, seated with his elbows resting on the table, his fingers intertwined as his chin rested upon them.
He finally sighed after a full hour of silence.
"Now I want each of you to recount the events that transpired in the cafeteria based on your point of view. I want the absolute truth," he said, tilting his stiff neck slightly. "Mr. Rophenia?" He spoke, referring to Aden von Rophenia, the third prince of Ezram.
"Well, I had just arrived at the cafeteria after a meeting with my teammates only to find this... insect," Aden began.
"Language," the man interjected.
"I arrived with Ethan, a fellow teammate, and found Auston here harassing a female student. Unable to condone his degenerate behavior, I intervened and tried to stop him, but he remained adamant and chose to fight me rather than release the victim of his degeneracy."
"That was not what happened!" Auston protested, having none of it.
"Mr. Orton," the man gave Auston a glance, to which he fell silent.
"Go on," he nodded toward Aden.
"I couldn’t just let things continue as they were, so I intervened and fought," Aden said.
