Chapter 124: THE BOY DIED
John was totally shocked. The two he sent to keep an eye on Logan weren’t just anybody. They were both Tier 5 mages.
And both of them were killed? He couldn’t believe what he just heard. Then suddenly another question arose in his mind.
"And what about the boy?" John asked hurriedly.
"The boy was taken. A coachman from the royal palace was there. When we arrived there, we found him in such a terrified state that he didn’t even have the courage to move." He paused for a moment before continuing again.
"We have already dispatched one of our tracking specialists to find out his possible whereabouts. But I am afraid he..." He didn’t finish his sentence.
But John didn’t need more words to understand what he wanted to say.
John stayed silent for a moment. Then said while standing up from his chair, "I don’t think he is dead. If the people who attacked, wanted him dead, then they wouldn’t carry the boy’s corpse. You would have found it beside our two mages. It implies only one thing. They took him as a captive. He is still alive. Update me the moment our tracker sends news."
"Yes," the young man nodded.
"You can leave now," John said.
The young man gave a respectful bow, turned around, and quickly left the place.
John slowly walked over to the window and stood there, gazing up at the open sky. His thoughts began to drift.
"Strength or talent is always like a beacon for the danger lurking in the shadows. It never fails to attract them," John thought.
