Chapter 863: Revised -840 Campsite
The huge worm carcass and the sticky yellow-green pus made the scene so disgusting that most of the people Tanya brought hesitated to move forward. However, Lancelot and his companions were clearly not among them, as compared to what they had previously experienced at Oasis Fort, Mogrondale, and the Bone Castle of Cang Ye, this was just a small scene.
Apart from the worm’s claw marks, there were no other arrangements in the carriage, and they found no new discoveries. Lancelot vaguely felt that something was off, but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was, and the situation did not permit them to linger any longer.
“A lot of undead soldiers are heading this way!” A raven suddenly dropped from the sky, transforming into human form and shouting to the crowd, “They’ll be here in ten minutes at most, hurry up and evacuate!”
“Where are you going next?” Tanya looked at Lancelot, “Back to that owlbear’s lair?”
“No.” Lancelot shook his head, “We were originally heading to Soveris; there are many things we need to discuss with him. We ran into this convoy halfway…”
“Great, we’re heading there too.” The half-elf gave a sincere smile, “It’s good to have you back, Captain.”

Before the spectacular city defense battle, per Soveris’s orders, Raventown organized an emergency evacuation, so the residents didn’t leave their homes empty-handed. They drove beasts of burden and large wagons, carrying clothes, food, and even all the stock from the Wolfhead Tavern, into the dense forests west of Raventown.
Passing through numerous undulating hills, amidst the black and green treetops, the group saw their destination. It was a beautiful valley, surrounded by lush forests, and not far away, a small lake formed by mountain springs provided ample water for the homeless people. Although only a ‘temporary’ shelter, the camp was not chaotic, with large wagons and small tents neatly arranged. If not for the children running around and the women washing clothes and cooking meals, Lancelot might have mistaken this place for a military camp.
