Chapter 154: Disappointment
Aleksander’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. He did not expect Elys to agree with him like that – it was far too surprising! Was it because he had apologized sincerely back then with his undesirable actions?
He felt like he was slowly learning more of how to win Elys’ good side.
Slash those stupid things he did back then, communication was the right thing to do.
"That is wonderful, my queen!" he said as a wide smile beamed from his face. He reached out for both of Elys’ hands and then added, "Thank you so much for agreeing with me. I promise not to be rash with my decisions."
"As you should," Elys said.
Aleksander nodded with instant agreement. If he really wanted to win her, he must do things that she would appreciate. It was quite a chore, but he was much willing to bend a few things from his usual to get what he wanted.
And he wanted Elys to always be by his side.
"But you did mention you are going to read before going to bed, would you want to get a book in your chambers first?" he recalled.
"Ah, I do have a book in mind," she hummed. "I shall retrieve it. You can wait for me here, and we can go together."
Aleksander shook his head and said, "I will come with you."
Elys heaved an exasperated sigh, "Alright then. Suit yourself."
