Chapter 105: Blinding Light
The prince stared intently at the High Priestess’ eyes and then asked, "Are you going to accept me as your new king or do you really want me to fulfill those false prophecies of that damned queen?"
Before the High Priestess could even respond to Aleksander, somebody from the crowd stole everybody’s attention.
"Get out of here you cursed bastard!" a noble suddenly shouted.
Prince Aleksander’s eyes instantly shifted from his cold silvers to a burning golden color. He turned his attention to the man that screamed, his eyes glaring at the audacity.
Elys took that as her cue, and right there and then, unsheathed the sword that she had strapped around her waist.
Quite coincidentally, the man that yelled at Aleksander was just an arm’s length away from her, and the princess only had to take a step to the side to slice the vampire’s head off without mercy.
Blood sprayed all over her dress and face, all the while the family whom she had killed a member of snarled at her with great vehemence. Their fangs were bared and their sharp nails ready to gouge her eyes out in retaliation.
"The vampire book of laws states that anybody who insults the rightful king of this kingdom shall be sentenced to death immediately," Elys turned to the rest of the vampires and then towards the High Priestess, "am I not right, High Priestess Naya?"
The High Priestess remained silent, not wanting to respond to Elys who wasn’t even a vampire.
