Chapter 49: Infatuated Moth
Elys observed the prince’s expression as he stared intently at her outstretched arm. She was confused why he hadn’t bitten her yet when she was fully aware he was already hungry.
What was that loud stomach growling for then? Surely it wasn’t just for mere show. She swore she heard it correctly that his stomach practically was begging for blood in his system.
"Would you like a straw for that?" Elys teased.
"Funny," the prince replied, sarcasm oozing from just a single word.
After what felt like a very long awkward pause, Aleksander finally pushed Elys’ hand away. The princess raised a brow in confusion. Did he just reject her?
"I thought you needed to feed?" Elys asked him. "You must drink blood or else you’d go wild again."
She didn’t even want to revisit that time the prince went ballistic. It was troublesome, if not annoying at the very least. Although if he did go wild on them right now, Elys could at least feel at ease with the other knights to help her restrain the prince.
The prince didn’t reply to her. Instead, Aleksander suddenly leaned towards the princess, making Elys reflexively back up, only to hit the hard trunk of the tree behind her.
"What are you doing?" came her question.
Her pulse quickened, but just as she usually did, Elys kept a calm face even as the prince had his face pushed too close for comfort.
"I’m doing you a favor," he replied curtly.
