The Royal Revenge

Chapter 3: Enslaved

There were no birds that sang as the morning sun rose from the east.

And even though it was supposed to be sunny after five hours from the break of dawn, the skies of the western kingdom had stayed gloomy, like a thunderstorm was about to pour down on them any minute.

Elys and the women were taken from their quarters to a barren field far from the capitol, and the princess could see the pitch-black castle that shimmered gold unknown flecks – probably crystals – from afar.

The Ardorleans live inside that dark castle. Elys thought. She must find a way to infiltrate the vampire hierarchy if she wanted to get a head start with her mission.

THWACK!

The familiar sound of a whip jerked Elys back to her reality, and the plow in her hand reminded her that she needed to do her part as a slave of the Ardorleans.

The princess turned around to see the man in-charge of the slaves – the overseer as he was called.

He had a name, but Elys prefer to call him as ’Ugly Pig’. Not because he had a body like that of a pig, but more on the fact that he smelled and acted like one, and his laugh was as ugly as he was.

But with all honesty, he does look like a pig too with his bulging cheeks, bloated stomach, and non-existent neck.

He was neither a vampire nor had he any magical affinities. He was once just like them too, a slave that had clawed his way up by pushing the others down the cliffs, yet the man was ruthless when he notices even the slightest hint of exhaustion from the women.

THWACK!
