Chapter 276: Insatiable**
Katelina and Ezekiel retired earlier than their guests. After dinner, Ezekiel led her back to their bedchamber. She couldn’t help but release a deep sigh.
"Go and rest for the night. I’m sure we’ll figure things out soon," Ezekiel comforted her.
"I feel bad for Levi. I shouldn’t push him with this as well. He’s too young, and yet he’s already exposed to things like this," Katelina murmured. Levi could no longer feel that ominous energy, but he chose to stay and linger at the party with Asura. She had told him to come with them so she could tuck him into bed, but Levi refused.
Katelina yawned, her heavy eyes blinking sleepily throughout the party. She was exhausted.
"You can go and return. I’m fine now, Kiel. Even if my nightmare returns, I can manage it," she reassured him. She saw the hesitation in Ezekiel’s eyes, so she smiled and gently pushed him out of the bedchamber.
"Go and take care of my baby brother instead. If possible, end the party soon so Levi can rest. He can be very stubborn, especially knowing his sister’s safety depends on it," she remarked. Ezekiel had no choice but to leave her alone.
Katelina didn’t need a maidservant, so she prepared for bed on her own. Once alone and lying down, she stared at the ceiling, trying to recall the things she wrote in her private journal. Some of it was still unclear, but she was able to piece some things together.
"I shouldn’t have written that part in the journal," Katelina murmured with a sigh. She had written those visions to piece them together so that Ezekiel could see them, believing they might be useful to him in the future if she were unable to return to him. But it turned out that the information fell into the wrong hands.
Katelina yawned, feeling a mix of weariness and regret for her past mistake of leaving the journal behind instead of handing it to a trusted person. She knew she couldn’t turn back time and could only hope that Apollo and Cora would find it soon.
As she fell asleep, Katelina tried to connect all the dots in her previous visions. Past midnight, she stirred, feeling Ezekiel’s familiar warmth cuddling her. She snuggled closer and murmured, "You’re back."
"I’m sorry, did I wake you up?" Ezekiel whispered, gently kissing her forehead.
