Chapter 246: Your Strength
The next morning, Katelina woke up to find Ezekiel still holding her in his arms. She gazed at his face and leaned in for a quick peck on his lips, but Ezekiel, now awake, pulled her back for a passionate kiss.
Katelina’s body suddenly froze as she saw Devon’s face instead of Ezekiel’s. She pushed him away with all her might, her eyes widening as she realized it was Ezekiel.
"I’m sorry! I’m sorry..." she weakly gasped, crawling towards him.
"I’m fine, Kate... I..." he said, looking deeply concerned.
"I saw his face and thought he was the one kissing me," she explained, her lips and hands trembling as she unknowingly touched her lips.
"I..." she stammered, unsure of what to say.
Ezekiel took a deep breath and smiled at her. "It’s fine, Kate. I understand what you’re going through as your lost memories seem to be slowly returning. I’m here for you, and we’ll get through this together..." he reassured her, gently squeezing her hands.
Katelina didn’t know what to do. She could feel Ezekiel’s hurt through their bond, but she couldn’t control the sudden appearance of Devon’s face in her mind. She needed time.
"I’ll go get a healer and our breakfast," Ezekiel said as he got up to leave the tent. Katelina bit her lower lip. She didn’t want their relationship to suffer because of the horrendous memories returning to her.
