Chapter 228: His Dessert
Back at Katelina and Ezekiel’s tent, she shook her head in amazement, seeing that everything she needed was already inside. She quickly changed into fresh clothes and then went out to watch Ezekiel prepare their lunch.
"By now, some people have probably returned from the hunt, right?" she asked Ezekiel, curious about who might have the highest scores for the morning.
"Probably. Do you want to return today?" Ezekiel asked, glancing up from his preparations.
"I don’t want to. Let’s sleep here," Katelina replied with a blushing face, timidly smiling at him. Ezekiel chuckled, and she couldn’t help but laugh along. He looked so good and handsome! She felt so fortunate that a man like Ezekiel had never given up on her.
She walked towards him and hugged him from behind, whispering, "Thank you... for finding me and not giving up on me."
"Hah, I told you, you wouldn’t be able to run away from me, Kate. I’m too in love with you to ever let you go," Ezekiel said, turning to look deeply into her eyes.
And there she was once again, melting into his words and loving stare. Even though she couldn’t remember her time with him, there was no way her heart could deny this man who so obviously occupied her heart.
"Hmm, this feels so good," Ezekiel murmured, turning around to kiss her lips. But he quickly pulled away, turning his attention to a pigeon flying towards him.
Raising his arm, the bird perched on it, delivering a parchment. Ezekiel read it before it suddenly burned to ash.
