Chapter 215: Awakened
"Kate," Ezekiel called her when Katelina suddenly passed out.
[Let her rest. She’s exhausted, not to mention how the flow of energy inside of her is now working. I can feel the bond slowly emerging now. Her dragonrider blood is being activated...] Khal explained.
Realizing he was still inside Katelina, Ezekiel gently and carefully pulled himself out. He placed Katelina in a comfortable position before grabbing a wet towel to clean her up. He then put new nightwear on her. After quickly cleaning himself up and donning just his trousers, he lay down and pulled Katelina’s body against him. He lovingly cradled her soft body and kissed her forehead.
"Finally, she’s truly bound to me," Ezekiel hummed, filled with satisfaction and bliss. She surrendered herself to him willingly and let him mark her. Tonight was the happiest night of his life. He had never felt this complete and contented in his entire life.
[Yes, and it’s working. The dragon scroll in her is working. Once she wakes up, she’ll remember all the knowledge from the dragon scrolls. But her abilities to see the past and the future are truly gone. The heavens took those gifts from her as punishment. The memories she lost... I’m not sure if they will come back or not,] Khal assessed.
Ezekiel’s face darkened as he grunted, "It’s fine, Khal. If that means she has to remember Devon, then I’d rather she not remember a thing."
Meanwhile, everything felt like a dream for Katelina. She saw a bright light before her surroundings turned dark. Her body still felt strange with the inner energy swirling inside her core. In her subconscious mind, everything pertaining to the knowledge of dragons and being a dragon rider played out.
She unknowingly smiled and snuggled into the warmth that cuddled her. When her energy started stabilizing, Katelina stirred and slowly opened her eyes. Right then, she found Ezekiel staring at her.
"That’s fast, I thought you’d go straight into a deep sleep," he murmured as he gently caressed her cheek. Katelina’s face blushed hard, recalling what they had just done. She unknowingly touched the mark Ezekiel made on her neck.
