Chapter 133: Help Them
With Mineah creating the portal, the two swiftly traversed through it, arriving in an empty spot within the castle where Tarah took charge. Despite Mineah’s questioning look, there was no time to explain why Tarah navigated the castle with such ease.
"I can’t reach Lai through our bond," Mineah whispered, trailing behind Tarah.
"Your bond with King Nikolai won’t function within this castle. Devon cast a powerful spell disallowing private communication through bonds," Tarah explained methodically. "Most spells won’t work here except those created with the essence of divinity."
She pointed to what appeared to be a dead end. "Do you see that wall? It’s a secret passage to where Devon detained King Nikolai and King Ezekiel. Remember, casting divine spells is your only way in. You must not get caught. Utilize all the gifts His Majesty gave you," Tarah reminded her. "Devon’s power won’t affect them."
Then she gestured to her cloak. "These magical artifacts are blessed with divinity, so they can withstand the demon’s power. Use the armring draconite and conceal yourself well. I’ll return to you after retrieving something," Tarah told her. "Things may become confusing, but know my true intentions, Your Majesty. I only seek to save King Ezekiel and King Nikolai, so please trust me until we ensure their safety."
Mineah nodded, although looking utterly confused. "Please wait here," Tarah murmured, hastening to one of Devon’s private chambers where he stored some of his disregarded belongings. The guards in charge greeted her respectfully, and Tarah breathed a sigh of relief as she passed.
Inside, she quickly located a bookshelf, finding a torn page among the chronicles of fallen angels that Devon had torn apart and inserted. Though she didn’t understand its significance before, a previous vision revealed that Queen Mineah would need the torn page.
After securing it, Tarah hurried back to where she left Mineah and handed her the torn page.
"Here, study this. It’s a torn page from the magical books about the Chronicles of Angels," Tarah explained. "It’s written there how you’ll end your curse and how you’ll use the divine dagger. It’s in riddles, but I’m sure you’ll figure things out once you need to do everything."
