Chapter 36: Twin Flame
Ezekiel quickly sent word to Lurio through one of his royal pigeons. He hadn’t done so a while ago and instead had simply let Tarah seek the wizard out personally because Vulcan’s soul was still in control over him during his struggle. He had feared that he might end up hurting Tarah if she was near him, so he thought it was best for her to go away in the meantime.
Still, while he didn’t know what kind of language and spell Tarah cast on him before, it clearly worked for the moment since Vulcan couldn’t do anything to him other than annoy him with his grumbling voice and nonsense offers and suggestions. The dragon was crazy. It would act cool and try to tempt him in one moment, then curse him during another, especially whenever he wouldn’t respond to it.
"You should rest," Ezekiel told Tarah, who continued writing in her journal after eating.
Seeing her now, he couldn’t help but reminisce on how Seer Beirut had the same habit of writing everything he saw in his own journal. He also noticed that the awful scent from earlier had already disappeared.
[Of course, it would, dimwit!] Vulcan pointed out. [She took a bath and changed into a new set of clothes!]
Tarah closed her journal before turning to him. "I think I found a way to remove the dragon scales from some parts of your body."
[What a nuisance!] Vulcan growled.
Ezekiel ignored the dragon and simply creased his forehead as he stared at Tarah. "How?"
"I put everything I know in this journal, details that might help me," Tarah explained. "In the previous vision I got, I saw myself reading an ancient scroll. So from that memory alone, I managed to have a proper glimpse of the languages and some of the important and useful spells that Dragonriders used."
