Chapter 370: Epilogue
Time flew by quicker than anybody thought it would. Before anyone knew it, baby Aire had finally reached her one-year birthday celebration. For the momentous occasion, Raine and Nathan busied themselves entertaining the various guests arriving at their home.
Most of them were just their families and some of their closest friends, but some were simply just a few of their trusted men and women, acting more like bodyguards and peacekeepers while also enjoying themselves. The party was held inside the Moon Clan Territory, specifically in the vast gardens of the Yue Mansion.
Raine had a wide smile on her face as she watched Nathan carry Aire in his arms, swaying her along with the lively music playing in the background. Her daughter’s laughter was so crisp and distinct, and it sounded like music to her ears even if it was the same voice that kept her awake in the night for days at a time.
"Ah, I can’t wait to give birth," Mia remarked as she stood beside Raine.
Hearing her friend, Raine turned to Mia and gently caressed her pregnant friend’s tummy. "It’s so big already," she chuckled. "You should start limiting what you eat. You might get gestational diabetes, you know."
"Hah, Boss... I didn’t expect that kind of talk coming from you," Mia snorted.
Raine laughed at her friend’s reaction. Mia was only six months into the pregnancy, but her tummy was growing bigger and bigger by the day. Her friend had also gained a lot by doing nothing except eat and sleep most of the time inside the control room with Wena. She had become rather lazy, a stark contrast to her usual work ethic.
"Hah, that’s it. Tomorrow, you should start walking with me and Aire in the morning," Raine teasingly scolded. "And this time, it’s an order!"
Mia could only shrug, and she was saved from giving out an answer to Raine’s ultimatum when Lyne and Boris, together with their baby boy, finally arrived together with the rest of Nathan’s family. Along with the two of them, their invitees coming from the Convel Society also filtered into the occasion.
