Chapter 253: Prince of the Moon Clan
Meanwhile, inside the Moon Clan compound proper, Levi, Lyne, and Mia were all running themselves ragged in trying to keep the peace throughout its halls. The innocents still there were right on the enemy’s crosshairs, and they had to do their best to make sure that none of them were caught in the crossfire.
"Are there any more people still around?" Lyne asked just as she was finished ferrying yet another batch of innocents to their designated safe area.
"There’s still a few more outside," Levi called out, also just being done with making sure his batch of people got themselves to safety. "Mia’s getting them now. We should focus more on making sure that this area’s secure."
"Right," Lyne nodded. "Still, we also have to make sure that they even understand what’s happening."
The attack had been fast and brutal. And while they knew well beforehand that it would happen, they were still caught blindsided with how quickly it spread across the compound. Already, a bit of infighting had begun popping up all around their vicinity, and it took at least two of them to try and keep the peace.
"Okay then, who’s going to explain it to them?" Levi exasperatingly asked. "Cause I sure as hell won’t."
"Well, I don’t know much, either," Lyne quickly replied. "Mia’s probably the one with the most info out of all of us."
"So we just have to wait for her then," Levi sarcastically sighed. "In the meantime, we just have to keep everyone calm while keeping them in the dark. Cause that’ll end well enough."
Lyne winced at Levi’s insinuation. She knew that withholding information at this stage would lead to more infighting, and that would mean more innocent blood being shed needlessly for something so stupid.
