Chapter 249: Selection of Your Luna
Nathan was anxious as days passed by. He wouldn’t watch any of the videos that came from the signal they got from Mia, but he ended up instructing Kiran, who he had assigned to monitor the live feed, to still connect the signal to his phone just so he could watch it anytime he wanted. They also now had better security and firewalls from Umbra, which Nathan had thought to be safer to connect to rather than having it connected directly to the Convel Society servers.
He really didn’t trust his own society’s technical team, knowing that some of the Elders were still against him ruling, especially Danos, who he knew was only waiting for the right moment to bring him down. Their disagreements with their plans against the Moon Clan were coming to a head, and it was only a matter of time until the man just tried something again.
’Anytime he wanted...’ Those words were such an understatement. He was still monitoring the situation like hell anyway. He might’ve wanted to stop the stupid act, but he simply couldn’t.
Letting out a sigh, Nathan was about to have dinner with Aspen and Boris in the dining area of his residence when Kiran called him.
"She’s on..." Kiran relayed through the phone, his irritation mounting as he began complaining. "Geez... I can’t believe you’re making me do something so inane like monitoring someone like this. Dammit! I’m the CEO of Umbra and yet you’re asking me to do-"
Cutting his former boss off, Nathan didn’t bother letting Kiran finish his whining in favor of opening up the live feed from his mobile phone. Clicking his tongue, he then looked at Aspen and said, "I’ll go eat in my room. Tell the cook to bring my meal there."
Without even waiting for a reply, Nathan walked directly back to his bedroom, all while watching the feed play from his phone.
"She looks good," he commented with a frown as he stared at Raine wearing a beautiful dress in the video, her pretty smiling deeply at the man in front of her. "How could she smile like that to another man?!"
Nathan grunted as he barged inside his bedroom. He was trying his best not to break his phone out of his rampaging control of his own emotions. For some reason, it was hard for him not to feel angry as he watched Raine talking nicely, and laughing with another man while they had dinner with Marcus.
