Chapter 227: You don’t want me?
Mia squirmed restlessly on her bed as she tried her best to get some sleep. She knew that what she had just done and was planning to do later would be putting her at risk. She was secretly helping Nathan, but it was something she didn’t regret one bit, knowing that it was also for their Boss and their Clan’s own good. They needed a ruler who had a heart, and it was either someone like their Boss or possibly even Nathan. King Marcus’s tyranny should stop here and now, and it was only Nathan who could even remotely do it since their Boss would never harm the father she grew up with, even if said father was downright evil.
"This could be my last night, so I should at least make it worthwhile," she bleakly murmured with a helpless sigh. Making a split-second decision, she hastily got up from her bed and grabbed her phone to call Levi.
’Is he sleeping already?’ Mia thought as she gathered her feet on the ground, contemplating whether to call, send him a text message first, or just knock on his door since his room was right next door to hers.
With a small sigh, Mia stashed her phone as she decided to just go out and stop by Levi’s room. Taking a deep breath, she loudly let it out before raising her hand to knock. However, just before her knuckles made contact, the door suddenly swung open.
"Mia?"
Levi asked in surprise, his heart almost skipping a beat as he blinked to ensure that he wasn’t hallucinating the fact that Mia was indeed right in front of him. He couldn’t sleep at all because of his unending worry for Mia. After dinner, he had walked her to her room, and she reassured him that she was feeling better already. However, he still sensed that she was far from the case. Something was clearly bothering her, and she didn’t want to tell him what it was. Although, he was pretty sure that it had something to do with her going to the Convel Society and then reporting to King Marcus about what happened afterward.
"What’s wrong?" he worriedly asked.
"Are you going out?" Mia inquired.
At the sudden question, Levi had an awkward smile on his face as he scratched his head and whispered, "Yeah... I’m honestly on my way to your room to check on you since I’m worried. Are you okay?"
Mia flashed him her sweetest smile as she shook her head, trying her best to deflect his worry with a pout on her lips.
Seeing her acting up, Levi felt as if his world stopped revolving again with how adorable she looked at the moment. She was just so cute that he was honestly tempted to pull her into his arms and lock themselves inside his bedroom, cuddling with her and...
Levi’s face suddenly flushed, his mind quickly realizing how his wholesome thoughts were suddenly turning into something highly lewd and inappropriate.
