The Untamed: Game of Hearts

Chapter 225: Mine**

Raine didn’t bother eating dinner as she patiently waited for Nathan to arrive. Looking at the bottle of wine and glasses before her, she had reminded herself that she already put in a few drops of the potion on the glass of wine that she’d offer him later on. Truly, all that was left was for the man in question to arrive, and her plan would finally be in full swing.

She stifled a yawn as she lounged in the room. As soon as the door clicked, she immediately stretched her lips out into a beautiful smile, the sweetest smile that she could possibly give to Nathan as soon as he entered the room.

"You’re here. I thought I was gonna starve myself waiting for you," she lightly teased as she quickly stood from her seat, approaching him with a warm greeting as she snaked her arms around his neck. Giving herself some leverage, she then gave him a light kiss on his lips as she whispered, "Let’s eat?"

At the sweet display of affection, Nathan chuckled as he teased back, "How about I have some appetizer first? You look far more delectable than any dinner we might have." How could she let her go? He would surely go insane for sure if he lost Raine. Marcus was not open to negotiation. He relayed his message to Mia, but his answer was firm... Marcus would not let him and Raine be together no matter what. Mia managed to inform him before he entered the room to meet Raine.

Raine smiled at the compliment as she stared at him closely, their faces only separated by a tiny gap away from one another. Despite the smile he was showing, she could still feel his distress lightly oozing out of him. She could feel the agony, the worry... And above all, the fear that Nathan was trying to hide from her.

"You intend to keep me," Raine bluntly stated, not batting a single eye as she stared right into his eyes.

Hearing the accusation, Nathan let some air out of his lungs as he telepathically complained, [This is so unfair. You can feel my emotions, but I can’t feel yours...]

Raine chuckled at his thoughts as she telepathically talked back to him, [It’s not my fault that you like complicated women like me. You should’ve picked someone else.]

"As if I’ll ever do that," Nathan voiced out loud. "And, I don’t just like you, Raine... I love you."
