Chapter 209: It’s not your fault
Raine let out a sigh as she watched Tyrone leave the room, staring blankly in the direction that he went to.
"How come my hunch is never wrong?" she wondered with pressed lips.
For some reason, she had this strong feeling that Tyrone was actually Nathan right from the start. Even so, she still tried her best to ignore the signs or to just deny the fact outright by telling herself that he wasn’t Nathan, but simply Tyrone. Why? Maybe it was because she knew that things would be less complicated if he wasn’t Nathan at all? After all, Tyrone being Nathan meant only one thing, and that was she had to choose between him and her father.
Raine closed her eyes, her lips pressed together as her forehead wrinkled up. "What will you do now, Raine?" she frustratingly whispered.
She massaged her temples in frustration. Of course, she truly believed Nathan and everything that he just said. She had felt the genuine emotion coming off of him while he was talking with her, and at this point, things were getting so complicated that she just didn’t know what to do anymore. Not to mention, how her body had felt off ever since she got marked by a werewolf. A part of her knew that her body was still adjusting to the new addition. And while it was a pain, she understood why Tyrone had marked her in a hurry. He had thought that it would be best for her own safety, after all.
At that thought, something felt stuffy inside her chest. But she couldn’t linger on the feeling as someone knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Raine asked.
"I’m Sanya, Nathan’s Aunty," a woman’s voice replied. "I brought you food. Can I come in?"
"Yes, please," Raine answered.
As the door opened, a woman who was probably around her fifties entered the room, followed by a man who was pulling a trolley of food behind her. The woman instructed the man to prepare the table before looking at Raine with a warm smile.
Knowingly, Raine smiled back. Nathan had already assured her that no one from the Blue Moon Pack would dare harm her. In fact, he only let his men guard her’s and Lyne and Boris’s rooms just to make sure that Danos won’t have any ideas. After all, the fierce werewolf would definitely not let things simply slide off easily, especially since they’ve killed three of his allied Elders.
