Chapter 34: Be A Filial Girlfriend, Will You?
"I am going to check and discuss something with the guys. You can rest here for a while," said Ryu. Arya just nodded with a smile as a response.
Arya called her mom, as soon as Ryu left her in the master suite.
She told her that she was once again on a work trip, out of town as Ryu had suggested. If she told her mother that she was with her boyfriend, it would have only made things more complicated.
"Dear, make sure you take care of yourself and don’t be too hard on yourself." She heard her mom’s words, followed by a sudden silence.
"Mom, are you still there? I am fine, okay? My work is not exhausting at all. I just walk and make a pose at the stage. I also got to wear a designer’s clothes." She said with a cheerful tone. Then, she heard a long deep sigh from her mother.
"I am really sorry, dear. This mother of yours is not capable enough. I can’t even be of any help to you and our family. I am so useless." Her mom said with a depressed tone. Her voice sounded very heavy-hearted.
Arya quickly said, "Stop talking nonsense, Mom. All that you do for us is indispensable. It is hard to take good care of us, me, dad and especially Reese. You are the one who is always with Reese and we both know how tough it is."
She didn’t know how her mom could stand it, seeing her daughter’s pain and her kidney fits every now and then.
She herself had seen it once but she couldn’t bear it, so she left her mom with Reese while she sobbed outside of the ward, on the waiting chair. She couldn’t bear to see her sister crying whenever the pain attacked her, her vomiting with medications, and insertions of needles in her delicate skin.
