Chapter 235: Triangle
"Hi," May greeted Riley and Cobra when she visited them at the military headquarters.
"Look, I brought you guys something to eat..." she said, smiling as she opened each lunchbox. Cobra excitedly sat at the dining table and said, "Thank you, miss May. Riley, come here..."
Cobra was not used to Riley acting so bashful in the presence of a woman, especially one in particular; one who was standing in front of him right now. ’What the heck is wrong with this blabbermouth now?’ he wanted to say that out loud but shook his head instead.
All of them were startled by the sudden opening of the door. "Miss May..." John murmured as he was looking at the lunch boxes May had brought and his facial muscles flinched.
He could not explain it well, but he felt something was weird about May. He heard that one of these two men had saved her in the ship, so he looked at them in a scrutinizing manner as he assessed each of them attentively. It couldn’t be the older one, who looked old enough to be her uncle. So it must be this young one, the one with a feminine look and soft facial features.
"Oh, hi John, what are you doing here?" asked May plainly as she prepared the dining table. Both Cobra and Riley were looking at John with questioning eyes.
John scratched his head and quickly answered, "I heard one of them saved you, so I wanted to meet him and thank him... By the way, my name is John. I’m one of Mrs. Lim’s bodyguards and I’m pretty close to Mrs. Lim’s friends, including miss May here."
John extended his hand for a handshake which Cobra accepted as he mentioned his name.
Riley gave him a nod and said, "I’m Riley." His mouth twisted when he felt the exaggeratedly tight handshake that John gave him before he let his hand go. ’What is wrong with this dude?’ he frowned but did not bother to ponder further.
