Chapter 30: The Trap – Chen Jun’s Ambush
[Second World: Zombie Siege, Otherworld]
The chilling roars of zombies echoed around Notting City as hordes of the undead assaulted its four gates. Thousands of players rushed outside to battle, their weapons clashing with the relentless waves of the undead.
The average player level in Notting City was around 11 or 12. Though fighting the level-13 zombies wasn't too hard in itself, the sheer number of them overwhelmed the players, resulting in several dying under the swarm's relentless attacks. White flashes of respawn lit up the battlefield constantly as players fell.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yue was battling at the western gate of Notting City. Against his level-17 strength, the level-13 zombies were nothing more than practice dummies. Where other players needed two or three combined efforts to kill a single zombie, Zhang Yue's Fireball and Icicle combination—dealing 600+ and 500 damage respectively—easily wiped out zombies with over 1,000 HP in a single hit.
His normal attacks were as strong as some players' ultimate skills. Seeing his ridiculous damage, many players around him tried to team up, hoping to benefit from his strength.
Naturally, Zhang Yue turned down all their requests. Soon, he reached the milestone of 50 kills.

Having completed the wave's task, Zhang Yue wasn't in the mood to continue killing endless zombies. Since the horde would retreat after an hour of fighting anyway, there wasn't much point in pushing himself. Plus, as a level-17 player fighting level-13 monsters, he only earned 1 forced experience point per kill.
Just as Zhang Yue was about to return to the city and rest until the siege ended, the guild chat lit up.
