Chapter 276: Power (2)
Dressed and clean, Ger told Axel and Ronan what happened to him, including the part about this curse and what he was. The pair were blown away, staring at him like he was some sort of god.
’To these mortals we are.’
Ger grimaced at the voice in his mind. It had only spoken to him a few times so far, but every time made him feel closer to losing his sanity. Was this all real? Or was it some sort of afterlife?
Those thoughts only flurried through his mind over the course of a second as he stared back at his friends on the sofa in the small living quarters adjoined to the guest room Axel was staying in. Once he saw Ronan and Axel’s faces again, he was reminded that this was all real.
He was this dragon slayer, this Dragonkin. Whatever this voice was had to be connected to it all. If it was, it would be helpful if it could tell him more about what he’d become. Anytime he thought such things, though, his mind was quiet, again making him believe it was not real.
"That’s so cool," Ronan murmured, watching Ger with bright eyes.
Axel clipped the back of his head. "Did you not hear him? It’s a curse. If he doesn’t kill other dragons, then it sounds like he will become one himself, losing his mind to the beasts... Right?" Axel looked at Ger.
Ger nodded in confirmation. That’s as much as he knew, though.
"You became a Dragonkin." Another voice hissed as the door to Axel’s room opened. Ger was already in front of the door by the time it was fully open, and he stared at Garrett threateningly.
