Chapter 815: Pregnancy Tips
Everyone knew that if they went there, they might not be able to control themselves. They might cry, make a scene, or even desperately ask their respective children not to leave.
After all, the world was so vast. ’Why can nobody else step forward and protect them? Why do our children have to bear everything themselves?’
Those thoughts lingered heavily in the hearts of their families.
Meanwhile, Silas, Ivy, Jade, and Bella boarded the spaceship. This time, however, there was one additional passenger.
It was none other than Alana.
Alana had decided to accompany them because of her medical skills. Leaving someone with her abilities behind on Earth would not have been appropriate, especially when they might encounter injuries or unexpected dangers on their journey. They needed someone who could treat them if something went wrong.
Nanami did not say much about it. Once everyone had boarded, the spaceship slowly lifted from the ground.
It was Ivy’s first time traveling beyond Earth.
Once upon a time, she had died in a very small country without even having the opportunity to properly explore the surrounding regions.
Now, not only had she traveled across vast parts of the world, but she was actually leaving Earth itself.
The thought filled her with a strange excitement and awe. Ivy immediately began inspecting the spaceship.
The interior was far more advanced than anything she had ever seen on Earth.
The walls were smooth and metallic, with faint lines of light running through them.
The control panels were embedded into sleek surfaces, and several screens displayed constantly changing readings.
She ran her fingers lightly over one of the smooth panels, marveling at how different everything felt.
’So this is what travelling through space actually feels like.’
After she finished looking around, she heard Silas speaking with Nanami.
Nanami had already activated the autopilot mode.
Since the entire destination had been entered into the navigation system, he did not need to personally pilot the spaceship unless they encountered some kind of unexpected variable or obstruction.
Silas looked toward him curiously. "How far is Planet Astra from Earth, and how many days will it take us to reach it?"
Nanami made a few calculations before answering. "It will take at least one month."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"Do not worry. I have already stocked enough food and daily necessities for the next month."
Afterward, he looked toward Silas.
"However, I think you should have stocked up on more baby supplies, considering that Ivy will soon give birth."
Silas subconsciously looked toward Nanami.
"Do you know a lot about superior beings and pregnancy?"
Nanami nodded.
"Since I work in this field of research, I have already dealt with many pregnant superior beings, so I know quite a bit about the subject."
Silas hesitated for a moment before asking another question.
"What about the birth of a superior being? Does the mother experience a lot of pain? Also, how much time does it take for the baby to be born?"
Nanami smiled calmly.
"Superior beings develop much faster than humans do. They only require six months for the baby to fully form."
His gaze briefly shifted toward Ivy’s stomach.
"That is why, even though your wife is only three months pregnant, her stomach is already beginning to show."
Silas continued asking, "What about the pain?"
Nanami shook his head.
"That is a variable. As long as your child remains completely healthy, your wife should not suffer too much. However, if your wife truly cannot endure the pain during childbirth and the child has an exceptionally high aptitude, you should try to comfort her by injecting some of your own superior being energy into her. Babies often become calmer once they sense their father’s energy."
Silas nodded with a grateful expression. "Thank you, Nanami."
Nanami smiled faintly. "In the end, whatever happens, you are my friend. I would never give you deliberately bad advice."
He paused and then looked at Silas with a serious expression.
"Just make sure that Jade is not around Ivy when she is about to give birth. I am one hundred percent certain that he will try to pull some kind of trick."
Silas nodded outwardly, but internally, his decision was already made.
’Neither Nanami nor Jade will be anywhere near my wife when she gives birth.’
After asking for a few more tips and learning several other things about superior-being pregnancy, Silas finally walked toward Ivy’s room.
Ivy was resting on the bed. Despite the fact that their journey had only just begun, she already looked exhausted.
Her body felt heavy, and there was a faint ache running through her limbs. Perhaps it was because of her pregnancy hormones, or perhaps she was simply missing home more than she had expected.
She stared through the window at the endless black galaxy outside. Countless distant stars glittered against the darkness, but instead of finding the sight beautiful, she only felt a strange emptiness in her chest.
She eventually looked away and murmured, "This is so depressing."
Just then, the door opened, and Silas walked inside.
When he saw how disheartened Ivy looked, his heart immediately softened. He quietly slipped beneath the covers and pulled her gently toward him.
Ivy snuggled against his chest, breathing in the familiar scent of him.
"Traveling is truly exhausting. Next time, let us not travel while I am pregnant."
Silas’s heart ached at her words. He slowly massaged her stomach and then gently rubbed her back.
"I am sorry. It was my mistake. Perhaps next time we will not travel at all, and we can also decide not to have another child."
Ivy immediately looked at him with a serious expression. "So you mean that we should have only one child?"
Silas clenched his fist beneath the blanket as he remembered everything Nanami had told him. After a moment, he nodded.
"With each child that is born, the mother’s aptitude remains the same, but she continues to produce increasingly intelligent babies. The smarter the baby is, the more difficult the pregnancy can become for the mother. So, Ivy, let us not have any other children after the one we are having now. We will pour all our love into this child."
Ivy pouted slightly.
"No, let us have this baby first. If it is a girl, then let us have a boy next, and if it is a boy, then let us have a girl. We should at least make sure that even if we are not around one day and our child does not have a romantic partner, they will still have the companionship of their sibling."
Silas paused.
After thinking about her words, he suddenly felt that Ivy’s reasoning made a lot of sense. The thought of their child growing up with someone who would always stand beside them brought a little warmth to his heart.
He nodded.
"All right, but there is one condition. If there is any way to transfer all your pain into me, then and only then will we consider having a second child."
Ivy laughed softly. "That is impossible. There is no way to transfer a wife’s pain onto her husband."
She snuggled closer to him, resting her head against his chest. "But you are truly a green flag. My choice was excellent."
Silas smiled faintly, but his mind remained occupied with worry about his wife and everything Nanami had told him.
Nanami had already warned him that during a woman’s first pregnancy, there was a relatively high chance of miscarriage among superior beings.
That was why Silas remained extremely cautious and had repeatedly been warned to keep Jade away from Ivy.
Nanami had also told him that Ivy should not become too cold and should keep herself as warm as possible. If possible, she should avoid ordinary Earth food and instead consume food prepared with emotions infused into it.
Silas already understood this concept, so he made sure that Ivy ate only food prepared by him, with love and care.
Not only that, but he also made sure that nobody came too close to Ivy unnecessarily. Nanami had even warned him that Ivy should avoid exposure to any kind of radiation whenever possible.
After all, superior-being embryos were extremely sensitive during their development. According to Nanami, even seemingly ordinary substances could cause unusual reactions, with milk being particularly dangerous.
Nanami had repeatedly warned Silas to make sure that Ivy did not drink milk or consume anything made from milk because the reaction could be severe, and Ivy might not be able to handle it.
