Chapter 42: Gratitude
Ivy and Silas turned to look at Freya.
Just from the impatient expression on Freya’s face, they can understand just how much in a hurry she was.
"Mom, at least let us..." Silas began, but Freya cut him off, "I know, you both still haven’t eaten anything, right? Don’t worry, I have prepared food, just follow me. You can answer my question while eating. Or just eat in front of me, while I brief you both about the situation."
Silas: (ᵕ—ᴗ—) This is my mom. She was more worried about her discovery than her son.
"Alright." Ivy agreed before Silas could intervene. Freya shot a glance in Silas’s direction, then she said in a seemingly casual tone,
"You both have come here because of my work. No need to think you are freeloading. If you take out your own food, it would be equivalent to insulting me."
With that, she walked away.
Ivy’s eyes widened. Was this the same Freya who glared at her every time she saw Ivy?
"Let’s go." Silas’s voice broke Ivy’s daze, and she nodded with a complex expression.
Soon, both of them arrived inside the lab. The laboratory was huge, there was various equipment, and many of the researchers were busy with their work.
Freya led them to a group of researchers who were examining a young man.
