Chapter 25: Provocation
Silas closed his eyes; he was ready for her to demand something sky-high and said,
"Okay. Tell me how many gold bars you want."
After the arrival of the zombies, food became scarce, even with money and gold, Silas’s family was only able to secure food for 20 people, or for the next 5 years.
Blackthorns were a powerful and wealthy family; however, other rich families weren’t stupid. The same goes for the general public.
With so many people hoarding food, even with money and connections, Blackthorns acquired only a few varieties, mainly including but not limited to instant noodles, canned fruits, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned soup, white rice, pasta of different kinds, seasonings, coffee, etc.
Though it seemed a lot, even if they become frugal, they won’t last more than 7 years.
One extra bento box might not seem significant, but if used smartly, it will last a day.
Not to mention... Silas looked at Ivy. He planned to tell others that Ivy had contributed the bento package. Though not much, he will have a proper excuse to slip some extra food to Ivy later.
"I don’t want gold bars; they are way too cheap. I want one kiss." Ivy leaned toward him and chuckled.
