Chapter 4: Brimstone Mountain
Silas turned his attention back to Henry and frowned,
"It wasn’t her mistake. It is her family. They tricked her."
Ivy’s fist clenched, and she suddenly remembered one of the details she had missed before.
After a month of the apocalypse, since the Ravencrofts had not hoarded supplies, they forced her to invite Silas to dinners.
Their motive was simple force Silas to hand over the food to the Ravencroft family, otherwise, they would not give Ivy any food.
Silas, like a fool he was, continued to supply all the food he had gathered to the Ravencroft family.
He even secretly proposed to Ivy that they should run away, but Ivy, blinded by family love, stayed and made him suffer...till he died saving her...
Before the apocalypse, many of the citizens hoarded food; after the apocalypse, some used the lockdown to steal food and other supplies.
Only fools like Ravencrofts stayed in their home and followed the government’s orders. Other smart, wealthy families bought more supplies, while some stole or hunted animals.
Silas’s family was smart enough and had hoarded supplies, too.
However, as an emergency backup, he still went out for a hunt.
