Chapter 130 - Hundred And Thirty
"Where is it?" Doris whispered, her voice trembling. She frantically searched her room, tossing pillows and blankets aside. Her heart pounded in her chest as she frantically searched for the missing item.
"What will I say? I can’t just tell him I lost it," she muttered to herself, her voice filled with dread. "I don’t even want to think about what he might do to me."
Tired of searching, She bent down as she sat on the floor, her head resting against the cold, hard wood. Her mind flashed back to the terrifying encounter with the masked man. She remembered the intensity of his gaze, the cold, calculating look in his eyes. He had given her the ring, a symbol of her passage to see the mysterious master. But now, it was gone.
She remembered fainting after the encounter when Suzy came to help her. The ring must have slipped from her grasp during the fall or perhaps she had misplaced it upon entering her room. She has searched Suzy’s room carefull but couldn’t find it. Now her own room isn’t giving her any hope of finding it.
"Where would it be?" Panic seized her as she realized the dire consequences of losing the ring.
"What am I going to do now?" she cried out, her voice filled with despair. She buried her face in her hands, tears streaming down her face.
She knew that the masked man would be furious if she doesn’t come and might kill her if she couldn’t produce the ring. He was a dangerous man, capable of inflicting unimaginable harm and that ring looked precious. She had to find the ring, no matter what.
Doris wiped away her tears, determined to find the missing ring. She resumed her search, her mind racing. A chilling thought crept into her mind. "Have they caught up to me? Have they realized I didn’t finish the job?" She shook her head, dismissing the thought. "I have to find that ring first. The rest can wait."
Just then, a knock sounded at her door. "Who is it?" she asked, her voice tense.
