Villain Retirement

Chapter 1165: My Bad

"We were told that a Hero wouldn’t be born in a hundred years. So...

...who are you? If you do not give a proper answer, then the Church of Fate shall cleanse you from this world."

Riley still knew absolutely nothing of this world aside from it heavily relying on a black-and-white lens view of nature, literally. The very concept of the world was that good is good, and bad is bad—nothing else, and the system makes sure of that.

The system being a literal Book that decides what one’s entire role is in the ecosystem.

It was simple, extremely so—and that is why Riley was learning to slowly like it, no. He had only been here for 2 days, and he already liked it.

And yet why, even though the system already decided it, was there someone approaching him and telling him that the system was wrong? Riley stared at the robed figure for a few moments, staring at him from head to toe before reaching his hand out.

The robed figure quickly leaped back, pulling out several daggers and throwing it straight at Riley’s neck. Riley did not even bother dodging or swatting them away, however. He just let the daggers bounce from his skin.

The stranger quickly pulled out another weapon, a sword, and rushed toward Riley without any hesitation. As for Riley, he casually snapped his fingers, summoning the Book that held his title.

"Hmm!?" The stranger halted his steps, his eyes locking onto the book as soon as it appeared. But as soon as he saw the word ’Hero’ on it, the book suddenly disappeared—not because Riley returned it to wherever it was stored, no.

But because Riley disappeared from the stranger’s view too. Not for long, however, as the stranger suddenly felt something warm touching his cheek.
