Chapter 1156: Conspiracy
"Hand over your money!"
"Do you want to die, eh!? Is that it!?"
"Kill one of them so they would understand how serious this is!"
The bandits' threats grew wilder with each flap of their lips, and yet Riley hasn't really made a move at all. He waited for them to actually lunge at him or the carriage, but they weren't doing it at all.
They were just glaring at him and waving their weapons around—and for Riley, that could really only mean one thing, these people weren't prepared to kill at all.
"What… what do we do…!?" The young boy in the carriage started to tremble. But still, he stuck out his arms from the window and started tapping Riley on the shoulder, "You're… you're a warrior, right? Only warriors would travel alone on this kind of road. Can you… can you defeat them?"
"Young Master!" The boy's butler quickly pulled him inside before closing the window. Their voices, however, still seeped out as everyone could hear them talking, "We need to leave! These bandits will kill us—we should abandon the carriage and run home as soon as the chaos ensues."
"What…?" The boy whispered loudly, "But our gifts for Princess Lucia are here! We can't just leave it here, this is supposed to be dowry and—"
"No treasure is worth your life, Young Master." The butler insisted, "And you're right, that white man out there that looks like a ghost is a warrior, I could feel it. Once they start fighting, we'll run—and if the warrior manages to win, then he will probably take this carriage to the city and we'll report him to the guards for stealing it from us."
