I'm Not Naruto, But I Got a Better Bloodline

Chapter 204: Kumogakure’s Worst Houseguest

“A shinobi of Konoha—only one?”

“Small build, white hair, White Fang’s short blade, and Lightning Release: Chakra Mode on his body—that’s Kitagawa Gen!”

“Damn it! He’s the one who cut off the Raikage’s arm—he’s the one who killed him?!”

“He actually dared to come here?!”

“ANBU! Where are the ANBU?!”

“Kill him! He dares invade Kumogakure—he must die!”

The high-ranking shinobi of Kumogakure shouted furiously at the sight of Gen. But he stood as calm as ever.

With an almost casual air, he drew the short blade at his waist. Tilting his head as though puzzled, he asked, “How strange… You took the initiative to attack us. Did it never occur to you that this day would come?”

“Or is it that—”

[Buzz—]

Gen wasted no words. The moment he saw Kumogakure’s ANBU rushing in, his chakra flared explosively.

His blade moved like an illusion—one Kumogakure ANBU was pierced through in an instant, blood dripping from the blade’s tip.

“And yet you still cling to false hopes… You think it will be just like when you stole the kekkei genkai of other villages, their secret arts—that nothing will happen to you?”

Even as his words fell, three more ANBU had already leapt high behind him.

Lightning coursed across their bodies as their long blades descended.

In that instant, three swords thrust into Gen’s body—only to pierce through empty air and sink instead into the corpse of the first ANBU Gen had slain.

“Damn it—Flying Thunder God!”

“Good guess. But it won’t help you.”

Gen’s White Fang short blade swept across their backs in a flash. Before they could even react, they were already cut down!

“If I recall correctly, years ago you used nearly the same trick against Konoha. The matter of the Hyūga clan—we haven’t forgotten.”

With a flick, he cast the blood from his blade. Looking at the faces of Kumogakure’s high council, dark with rage, he gave a sharp, almost mocking smile.

“Don’t think that stealing from others is your right. And don’t think that revenge is some kind of sin. The ones who deserve to die… are you.”

[Boom—]

No sooner had his words fallen than Dodai—the one Gen had kicked flying—suddenly stirred, his chakra surging wildly.

In almost an instant, his hand seals were complete.

A yellow sphere, rubber-like in texture, began to swell and spread at once, rapidly expanding until it covered nearly the entire meeting chamber.

“Everyone, get out now! I can’t hold him back for long!”

Dodai shouted. The situation was dire beyond belief. He didn’t know how many enemies there were, nor what chaos raged outside.

But just this one Kitagawa Gen alone was more than enough to wipe them all out.

If he really struck them all down in one swoop, Kumogakure would be finished.

“No—you’re mistaken. You won’t even last a few seconds.”

Even as his Lava Release took effect, Gen’s cold voice rang out.

At the same time, raging Lightning Release burst forth. Before Dodai’s eyes, cracks spiderwebbed across his jutsu.

[Crack—crack—]

With the sound of shattering, purple lightning split the sphere apart. In the blink of an eye, the massive construct burst into pieces.

Purple thunderlight flooded the chamber, and already the White Fang short blade was thrusting straight toward him!

“H-how is this possible…”

Dodai’s face went pale. And not only him—the other Kumogakure councilors were dumbstruck as well.

They knew Dodai’s strength. None of them could fathom how his jutsu had been destroyed so easily.

“We’re finished!”

Just as despair reached its peak, a figure suddenly erupted from the ground!

He was cloaked in red chakra, crackling with lightning release. His speed was overwhelming. With a sweep of his arm, the blade in his hand came slashing down!

In an instant, two blades collided. Ferocious chakra blasted outward in all directions, the shockwave tossing everyone in the chamber head over heels.

“Killer B?”

Gen arched a brow—he already recognized the newcomer.

“You’re Kitagawa Gen?”

Killer B’s gaze carried a shadow of hatred. He was usually an optimistic man, always free-spirited.

But his elder brother had died at the hands of this very man. There was no laughter left in him now.

“That’s right. I am.”

Gen nodded slightly. But Killer B erupted with even greater chakra, his fury mounting.

“Sorry—even if I don’t know you, I have to avenge my brother. So… die!”

With his roar, the chakra within Killer B exploded wildly. For a moment, even Kitagawa Gen was taken aback.

“As expected of a complete Eight-Tails jinchūriki. But still…”

[Boom—]

Kitagawa Gen’s chakra erupted once more. By now, the sheer volume of chakra he possessed was so overwhelming that even the system no longer bothered to tally it.

One could well imagine just how absurd his chakra reserves truly were.

“This brat… how can he have such a colossal amount of chakra?”

The voice of the Eight-Tails suddenly rang out in Killer B’s mind, thick with shock.

And what made him even more fearful was the sense that within this chakra… lurked something far more terrifying still.

“This brat isn’t ordinary. He’s extremely dangerous—you must be careful!”

“Dangerous?”

Killer B couldn’t make sense of it. But at that very instant, a flash of purple lightning crackled across Gen’s body.

A sharp pain struck his chest. His whole body was hurled back, slamming heavily into the ground!

And just then, he caught sight of Gen forming a one-handed seal.

That overwhelming chakra—so fierce that even the Eight-Tails inside him trembled.

“What… what is this?”

Before Killer B could understand, the Eight-Tails bellowed a soul-rending roar.

“Watch out!”

“Wood Release: Nativity of a World of Trees.”

In a thunderous surge of chakra, countless vines erupted from the earth, surging wildly toward Killer B—and toward the other Kumogakure leaders as well.

...

“Hahahahaha! What a blast! This is my art!”

High above, Deidara threw back his head, laughing wildly at the sea of fire erupting from the key locations below.

Beside him, Terumi Mei scanned the surroundings intently, her voice low and cautious.

“Stay sharp. We’ve already drawn attention. And watch yourself—don’t overdo the bombing. Don’t forget what our real objective is.”

“Tch. Yeah, yeah…”

Deidara smacked his lips but didn’t argue. Instead, his gaze drifted toward the Raikage Building, muttering to himself, “Wonder how Gen’s holding up over there…”

But before the words had even finished leaving his mouth, his eyes went wide in shock.

“What is it?”

Mei turned as well—and her face instantly froze in disbelief.

For atop the towering Raikage Building, vines had appeared from nowhere, twisting and coiling together.

The next moment, the entire building was ripped apart. From its shattered rooftop, a colossal tree burst forth, rising like a sky-piercing giant.

Beneath it, the writhing vines tangled and fused, spreading into a dense forest.

“Wood… Wood Release?”

Mei’s face was filled with incredulity. But almost at once, she sensed a terrifying chakra flooding outward.

"Rooaaar—"

The roar split the heavens. Between the flames and the trees, billowing smoke erupted, sweeping across the village.

And within that haze, the outline of a beast vast as a mountain loomed—its raging chakra surging skyward.

...

“Is that Wood Release?”

“That massive?”

“Did someone from Konoha arrive?”

“Damn, the Eight-Tails is out!”

The moment Kitagawa Gen’s Wood Release erupted, the shinobi of Kumogakure—already mobilized by the explosions across the village—instantly sensed something was wrong.

They watched as the majestic Raikage Building collapsed in an instant, replaced by a towering giant tree.

The surrounding streets were destroyed in that same moment, transformed into a sprawling forest. Every Kumogakure shinobi was seized by terror!

And when the Eight-Tails appeared, that terror magnified into madness—for everyone knew exactly what this meant.

“Damn it… how did it come to this?”

The usual laziness had vanished from Darui’s face; now it was filled with shock and disbelief.

“Wood Release, the legendary technique—what the hell is going on here?”

“Damn Konoha shinobi…”

Samui’s expression was cold, her eyes fixed on Killer B.

“For sensei to be forced to this point… damn it!”

“It seems Konoha has launched a surprise attack on the high council meeting. We have to stay calm.”

C, forcing himself into composure, knew that losing his cool now would only doom them.

“That battlefield isn’t something we can handle. The top priority is to bring Yugito here, so she and Killer B-sama can respond together. And remember—the enemy isn’t just one person.”

As he spoke, everyone’s eyes turned to the sky—where someone continued to rain down bombs!

They exchanged looks, all realizing the same thing: that person in the sky had to be taken down.

...

“So huge! Perfect for explosions, yeah!”

Up above, Deidara stared at the gigantic Eight-Tails and the vast forest rising from the ground. Fear never even crossed his mind—in fact, he looked faintly disappointed.

“What a pity… and here I didn’t even get to use our art. Tch.”

“Wood Release is probably more effective than your so-called art when it comes to dealing with tailed beasts, don’t you think?”

Even Terumi Mei was shaken by the sight before her, though she forced herself to remain calm.

“Stay ready to reinforce Kitagawa Gen—and don’t let your guard down. Fighting tailed beasts is no joke.”

After all, she still remembered vividly the nightmare of the Mist incident—how terrifying the Fourth Mizukage had been once transformed into a tailed beast.

Every single movement here could decide their lives.

On top of that, she could clearly see several beams of light racing straight toward them.

“Careful—we’ve been targeted too!”

“Tch, perfect timing!”

Deidara didn’t care in the slightest. He had noticed the crackling currents as well, but instead of worry, a grin tugged at his lips.

“I’ve been waiting forever to cut loose and have some real fun!”
