Chapter 507: Final Confirmation
Having descended the mountain, I stand in front of the waterfall cavern. Lilixira will probably arrive today or tomorrow. I hope to get one last break before that happens.
On our way here, we saw Beelzebub’s flies here and there. I took care of them just in case with [Dimension Claw], but seeing so many in this vast Easternmost Strange Land must mean that there must be quite a lot. There are surely many that got killed and eaten, too. There’s no way those flies could fight head-on with the monsters in this place.
Beelzebub said himself that his HP and MP is cut down whenever he uses [Kin Proliferation]. After using a bunch of skills on me, he sent about ten of his kin after me back then. Probably, the most he can release at once is about fifteen.
Also it’s just my guess, but perhaps the kin flies will all disappear if Lilixira cancels [Spirit Servant]. If they didn’t, surely Beelzebub would create as many flies as his self-regeneration allowed. This time, I’m thinking the large number of flies set upon this land is due to Lilixira sparing her MP to maintain [Spirit Servant] and letting him use [Kin Proliferation].
…In this dense fog, letting Lilixira have multiple fields of view is dangerous. Seeing as it’ll cut into her fighting strength too, maybe my first target should be Beelzebub.
However… Lilixira’s lack of action until now probably means she was preparing for battle. She was probably searching for a replacement for the seraphim that got eaten by the ruin. Nonetheless, if it’s just one more monster about as strong as Lilixira and Beelzebub, with my power now I might struggle a bit, but I should be able to break through single-handedly.
The problem is the possibility of there being some other method she’s using to supplement her strength. Though I can’t imagine her having the ability to transport human troops over the sea, and having large numbers of humans ride on Beelzebub for travel is impractical. How are they planning to attack?
I draw a simple map on the ground with my fingertip. I’ll presume the enemies consist of Lilixira, Beelzebub, one large monster, and a group of holy knights. In that situation, how should I fight ? In the first place, how will Lilixira attack me?
Beelzebub is a heinous monster. It wouldn’t be strange if someone were to be killed the moment I lose focus. I definitely need to face him myself. Lilixira is surely seeing him as her main fighting strength as well.
